FAQs

Are there any delivery charges?

Postage and packing is charged at £5 for each order placed.

Can vouchers be used to buy any goods or services from the retailer in question?

Generally yes but some restrictions do apply, particularly with regards to on-line shopping with some retailers. If you require further details please contact us.

Can vouchers be sent abroad?

No, sorry – only to addresses with a United Kingdom postcode.

How are vouchers delivered and how long does it take?

Vouchers are normally despatched within 24 hours of receipt of order (subject to cleared funds being available). All orders are sent by SMS (Secure Mailing Services), which normally arrives next day and for added security requires a signature on delivery.

What is a FlexVoucher scheme?

FlexVouchers is a service provided by The Voucher Shop whereby a pre-agreed net amount of an employee’s salary is “converted” into retail gift vouchers.

What is the benefit to the employee?

The main benefit for the employee is that they will receive greater value for money i.e. an employee flexing £200 of his net salary could receive up to £220 in retail gift vouchers dependant on his choice of retailer.

Which retail gift vouchers can an employee choose from?

The employee can choose from up to 27 different retail gift vouchers including supermarkets, department stores, holiday companies, clothes and fashion, electrical etc.

Is the discount part funded by me – the employer?

No, not at all. Due to the purchasing power of The Voucher Shop we receive attractive discounts from our suppliers (retailers). In the case of “Flex” programmes we pass on the lion’s share of the discount to the participant.

Can an employee change their voucher choice on a regular basis?

No. Due to the discounts we pass on to the employee and very low profit margins, changing the employees choice on a monthly basis would not be cost effective.

What happens if somebody has a major life event?

We would work with you to agree the specifics of which life events would allow the employee to opt out, in or amend their FlexVoucher options i.e. monthly amount of vouchers or voucher type.

It must be complex to setup and administer on an on-going basis

Far from it, the process of setup is very straight forward. You simply advertise the option during your usual flex enrolment period. Notify us of who would like to enrol and the net deduction from their salary and the voucher choice. Beyond that we would require you to setup a direct debit for the total amount and notify us of your payroll date.

When & where are the vouchers delivered?

This varies from client to client. Some of our clients / participants prefer that vouchers are delivered to office addresses, others would rather they are delivered direct to the employee’s home address. We would agree a regular monthly delivery date – usually pay day to ensure employees had access to all their monthly earnings.

Who is liable for postage?

Again this will be dependent upon your specific requirements. We have clients (employers) that fund the postage while alternatively we have clients that build this charge into the net salary deduction.

Are there any other costs applicable?

The only other cost applicable is a fulfilment / handling charge. We have two ways of treating this, we can either build it into the discount we offer against each retailer or we can invoice you for each employee that enrols to the scheme. In the first instance, we would decrease the available discount by circa 0.5% and in option 2 we would invoice you each month – Number of enrolled employees multiplied by £0.85 = total fulfilment costs per month.

And there are no other related costs?

Correct, we would agree a postage method and the treatment of fulfilment costs and that really is all you need to consider.
